Welcome to FPCC!
Our goal is to make sure our FPCC babies come to school and feel like they are loved at their home away from home! Our number one goal is to teach, love and take care of these precious individuals while they are in our care. We are truly a family here at FPCC and can’t wait for your family to join us!
Our History
The First Presbyterian Children’s Center (FPCC) was established in September 1988 by the combination of an existing day school and childcare program. The Day School was organized in 1967 to meet the community’s need for Kindergarten and 3- and 4-year old preschool programs. FPCC was established in January 1979 because of a need that was recognized by the Joint Service Committee of the First Presbyterian Church of Bryan, Texas. This need was for a noncommercial day care center that would provide “mental, physical, spiritual, and social development” of children both within First Presbyterian Church and the community at large.
Our program is administered by a full-time director and is licensed by the State of Texas to care for children from age six weeks to 6 years with hours from 7:00 A.M. to 5:45 P.M., Monday through Friday.
Philosophy
Believing that each child is a child of God, we are called to minister to all children and their families as they develop spiritually, socially, physically, emotionally, and intellectually.
We provide high quality, developmentally appropriate care to children in a Christian atmosphere.
We are continually challenged to identify and minister to the special needs of children and families in our community.
FPCC is a Christian Center committed to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with its children in age-appropriate ways. With preschool age children, Bible truths are taught through experiences and relationships more than through words.
During class time and chapel time, children are taught that God loves them and we are all God’s children. Basic Christian principles are taught by word and example — i.e., to love one another, be kind to each other, to comfort those who are sad, and to share with each other. Bible stories and times of prayer are shared with the children.
